(first post of 2008!)
some parodies
Jazzercise
to the tune of
Apologise
It's 3 a. m., you're flipping through the channels now
You see a man in a spandex suit jumping 'round
He says "Come dance" to everyone in the crowd
It's too late to Jazzercise
It's too late
Your neighbors won't sleep tonight
It's too late
"Pick up the phone and order a DVD,"
Says Richard Simmons, "Now slide on the count of three"
5 easy payments of 20 bucks made monthly
It's too late to Jazzercise
It's too late
You must get muscular thighs
It's too late
Keeping up your roommate with a Sweatin' To The Oldies tape
As you dance, you can feel the whole apartment shake
Groovin' to an exercise version of "Celebrate"
It's too late to Jazzercise
It's too late
The fat melts off before your eyes
It's too late. . .(etc.)
(When I wrote this, I didn't realise that it had a four-line verse structure. Whoops!)
Hey There Delinquent
to the tune of
Hey There Delilah
Hey there delinquent
Pretty soon you'll rot in juvie.
Oh, I know your parents taught you
A life of crime is just so "groovy"
And too cool
You drowned a toddler in the pool
(Can't stand the drool)
Oh, it's what you did to him
Oh, it's what they'll do to you
Oh, it's what you did to him
Oh, it's what they'll do to you
What they'll do to you
Hey there delinquent
As you sit in YRTC
Maybe you might think of me
Of how I got off so easy
Yeah, lucky me
No one watches when I pee
Just wait! You'll see!
Oh, it's what you did to them
Oh, it's what they'll do to you
Oh, it's what you did to them
Oh, it's what they'll do to you
Fourteen months seems pretty long
For making me a single bong
The cops are really "cracking down" on drugs
Armed robbery? That ain't so bad
Compared to what your cellmate had
He was charged with murder of the whole chess club
Your girlfriend said you two were done
So you went home and got your gun
And blew that little whore's face off for good
Just like you sho-o-o-ould
Hey there delinquent
I've got so much left to say
Someone should really tell you
How to avoid some pain each day
Don't drop the soap
You might feel a little poke
Uh oh- Oh No!
Oh, it's what you did to them
Oh, it's what they'll do to you
Oh, it's what you did to them
Oh, it's what they'll do to you
What they'll do to you _________________ confusing passion for the love he never gave |

1. tell me if you get this, because people can't seem to read through a layer of figurative language.
Explosion of a scream held in
Too long, too long
Corroded the silver lining of family
Bitter cold, white-hot anger
Perfect portrait of composure
"Drown with us!"
Cathartic plaything no more
Rip off acid chains
To become.
2. Vengeance: A Short Story (Part 1)
Revenge is a relatively new invention. Does the orphaned kitten seek out the fatal wheels? Can the worm pierce the hook? I am consumed by this strange compulsion to balance the scales. Sometimes, I shake with rage at the thought of what you did to me. At the thought of why I wear both halves of the best friends necklace. My rage is somewhat impotent, though, because of the inadequacy of any punishment. When I see you, it opens up not just my, but her wounds anew. The irony is overwhelming. How can a vehicle render one so immobile?
3. Untitled
you make me want to stand up straight, fix my hair [you remind me of my terrible posture]
you make me laugh in the stuffiest situations and the lamest parties [nothing else does]
you make me relax [i am so comfortable with you]
you make me not want to wear slutty clothes [they make me feel not good enough for you]
you make me confused as hell [why do these thoughts run through my head]
you make me smile at your triumphs, successes, and discoveries [your wins are my wins]
you make me want to finish my ice cream [even when i know i shouldn't]
you make me forget about the ugly world [your beauty is enough]
you make me want to learn [i feel slightly out of the loop, next to you]
you make me want to ignore boundaries [i can say anything i want to you and not care at all]
you make my feet feel small [even though they're size eight]
you make me want to care more [sarcasm soils your halo]
you make me a daredevil [you are my parachute]
you inspire me [this lame poem is all for you]
you make my commute interesting [who else would i think about on the 45 minute bus ride?]
you make me dream of better things [like when i can be with you]
you make me feel all music [Obstacle 1 has more meaning now]
you make me want to sing at the top of my lungs [who cares if i'm tone deaf?]
you make my insecurities disappear [i don't need anyone else's approval]
you are my shoulder to cry on [i know that you'll be there for me when i need you]
you helped me be wise [high school is only high school, after all]
i love you.

| oo, class TOTBL reference, and we really like some of your work. It almost makes us feel like we wouldn't be embarrassed to post our own poetry..... but we would. |

I'm in awe of how hilarious 'Jazzercise' and 'Hey There Delinquent' are
And 'Untitled' is lovely I wrote one like that a few years ago but it's literally pants. _________________ Let's Turn This Thing Electric! |

Here are the lyrics to "All Your Fault [WT]," which is the first of many of my songs.
My adolescence has caught up with me,
The fact that I'm nobody's fantasy
Has reduced me to pimples and to tears
The day that you turned and said to me
"I love not you, but her, you see?"
Made me feel older than my sixteen years
[Bridge]
I wanted our islands to join in the sea,
And become an archipelago, you and me.
[Chorus]
Not first, not last, not any more severe,
But no less alone, no less filled with fear [x2]
It seems my self has let fear take hold
Every aspect its control
It's let my appearance fall to pieces
We together would be gold
In this reality, all told,
You'll let me flounder 'til my breathing ceases.
[Bridge]
[Chorus x2] _________________ confusing passion for the love he never gave |

| This is actually a dead forum, just to let you know. I think some of us still check in every couple of months, but due to the lack of tom vek, it's pretty much died. |
